So you got engaged on Christmas...

I always thought it was a classy thing to do.  A marriage is a joining of two families, so proposing in a family setting makes perfect sense.  In January there will be a ton of bridal shows, don't let pushy vendors make you purchase services based on their schedule...it is your day.  While booking a vendor with plenty of advance time is the right thing to do, (for your own sanity) don't say yes to fast to a pushy sales pitch with 100 brides behind you.  Use a bridal show to get a quick overview of the wedding professional and make notes to set appointments with those who spoke to your needs/dreams.
Then before you know it the day will be here and everything will be perfect!

Here are some recommendations...

Make your wedding YOUR wedding!

One of the most important things you can do to truly make your wedding a fun reflection of you and your new spouse is to include the things that make you unique.  We recently had a wedding for a great couple at the Chicago Illuminating Company.  Brooklyn and Robert wanted the music and design of room to be a reflection of them.  The Dinner music was a collection of songs from the Twilight movies and Harry Potter.  Watch this video to see another creative way they incorporated their style.  It was another amazing wedding thanks to Engaging Events by Ali!

Having a wedding with 75 to 125 guests, Heather Ridge is perfect.

If you are looking for an affordable location to host a small wedding make sure you check out Heather Ridge Country Club in Gurnee, IL.  Matt Nordigan will be a great help and make your life easy as you plan your wedding.  Add a Fun Times DJ to the event and everything will be perfect.  Give them a call at (847) 680-7350.

Taking care of the bride...

On November 20th the Fun Times DJ office sent e-mails to our 12/3 brides letting them know that their file was completed with every special request on a flash drive and CD and in the hands of their DJ.  Imagine that as a bride!  Getting a confirmation that everything will be perfect two weeks before their wedding!  In return we received some nice e-mails as well.

Getting in great shape for your wedding, getting in great shape for life!

Two years ago I met Dustin Mortarano owner of Lake County Boot Camps.  Turns out alot of my brides were already using him to feel more confident on their big day.  Mention this blog and he will give you two weeks of training for free.  His program may change your life!  Fun Times DJ will get you dancing at your wedding after Dustin has you dancing, jogging, stretching and lifting.

12/3...A wildly busy wedding weekend! 1-2-3...get it :-)

Fun Times DJ is proud to be a part of five weddings this weekend from Chicago to Milwaukee.  What makes us different is the fact that we listen to our customers and ask the right questions.  If you want to deliver a perfect wedding you need to do both!  That is why Fun Times DJ has become one of the most popular wedding DJ's in Chicagoland.  Give us a call and we will introduce you the Fun Times DJ copywritten Wedding Questionnaire.  847-406-3535 (DJDJ).  As my friend Ali Philips says "Happy Wedding Planning!"

Great locations with an awesome caterer!

Two unique places to have your wedding are catered by one of Chicagoland's best companies.  Bauer's Party Master's Catering.    In addition to onsite catering they provide full services at the Lehmann Mansion in Lake Villa, IL and Cuneo Museum in Vernon Hills.
Imagine your wedding day perfect in a location that is breathtaking and exciting.  Both locations are very elegant and well manicured.  Take a look at this video of the grounds at Cuneo during a ceremony that Fun Times DJ supplied music for.  Call Mary and Ed Bauer today for a tour and consultation, 847-362-4232.

A miricle at a wedding!

One of our brides at Fun Times DJ lost her grandmother a month before her wedding.  She was very close to her and on what turned out to be her last day promised to make it to her wedding.  The wedding day was very stormy and dark.  Then just before dinner everything changed!  Everyone was standing at the back windows of the Country Squire in Grayslake, some with tears of joy.  The skies had opened and there was a double rainbow cutting through the sky.
Michelle's grandmother owned a daycare center named the Rainbow Connection!

Relax, enjoy your first dance and don't worry about choreography!

When you are elegantly or even clumsily fumbling with each other on the dancefloor during your first dance together as husband and wife realize what that moment means.  In the same way you might nervously give your vows to each other, know that it is the ceremonial aspect of it that is important.  Imagine the pride in your parents holding hands watching you.  Think of your friends who have known you two as a couple and their pleasure watching you tie the knot knowing they were there with you.  The moral to this blog is to enjoy the moment.  Don't feel bad that you didn't go to dance class or create a viral You Tube first dance that will be seen around the world.  Chances are that if you try to do something like that when it is not naturally you, the fear you will have leading up to that moment will ruin the love and tradition of the first dance.  So relax and have a great time at your wedding.  If you are having a good time everyone else will!

The busiest "booking" season of the year!

Right now, thousands of brides are choosing who they will trust with their wedding day.  My advice (20 years in the wedding industry) find vendors who convey a feeling of empathy and understanding.  Not just listening but truly understanding.  For instance Fun Times DJ has a six page wedding questionnaire that collects your wishes and helps the DJ deliver your dreams.  Discover more at www.funtimesdj.com.
